Megasonic theory by TechSonic

During the megasonic cleaning process, many phenomena seem to play a significant role. The optimal removal efficiency is reached by combining in a optimized way all these phenomena, in order to adjust all relevant parameters. The following pages are aimed at mentionning and explaining all known megasonic effects.

However, these documents do not claim to be nor exhaustive neither perfectly detailed. They are meant to give a general overview of what really happens in the tank when sonified with megasonic waves.

The main cleaning effects are :

  • pulsating bubbles
  • microstreaming
  • electrical field effects
  • chemical reactions enhancement
These terms will be explained in the following documents. Of course, this section of the site is open to any remarks or questions you may have concerning the theory of megasonic cleaning.
Some parts of this theory is confidential, and so not published on this web-site. If you would like more information or if you would be interested in a collaboration, please contact us.
